2011-2016 Strategic Vision Update

Now more than halfway through the 2011-2016 Strategic Vision, Malvern Prep has made significant progress in all goal areas. The successful work on Malvern’s Strategic Vision by the faculty, staff, administration, and Board in the 2013-2014 Academic Year is remarkable. Their commitment to Malvern’s mission and vision is reflected in their willingness to collaborate, innovate, and offer / respond to feedback. The exceptional progress listed below has allowed Malvern to build continuous momentum around its vision and to lay the groundwork for further strategic discussions.

Our School is steadily building the framework for the future through addressing the goals outlined in our aggressive Strategic Vision. I am happy to report, in this second quarterly update of the year, that we have made significant progress toward many of these goals. From expanding global opportunities for our students, to improving our daily schedule , to developing connections for our students with the local business community as well as passionate alumni, we are striving to prepare our students for success in the 21st century.

This Strategic Vision Update is the result of the work of Malvern's Strategic Plan Task Force, comprised of representative staff and board members. The Task force will regularly revisit the Strategic Plan’s goals to ensure their alignment with our educational vision and to confirm that we are still on target for completion in 2016.

The 2011-2016 Strategic Vision is focused on preparing Malvern students for the demands, challenges, and opportunities of a globally connected world. We are pleased to announce that we have taken the next step in our strategic journey by introducing, effective July 1, a new organization structure that aligns Malvern’s work with our Strategic Vision.

Strategic Plan Update

The Strategic Planning Oversight Committee met on February 1, 2012 to discuss the tactics and strategies related to the 2011-2016 Strategic Vision. The Committee is pleased with the planning process to date and looks forward to providing more information to the Malvern Community at the Town Hall Meeting on March 6 at 7:00 p.m.

Kevin Whitney named Dean of Curriculum

Rev. James R. Flynn, O.S.A., Head of School at Malvern Prep, has announced the appointment of Kevin P. Whitney to the newly-created position of Dean of Curriculum.

Oversight Committee Created

January 20, 2012
Upon the completion of the Strategic Plan, an Oversight Committee was created in order to manage the tactical elements of the plan moving forward. This committee works in tandem with the Leadership and Administration to help discuss, implement and fulfill the mission of the School and the 2011-2016 Vision.
