 Vic returned to the Malvern community in May of 2013 with a wealth of fundraising experience, having spent the majority of his professional career in education. He has significant experience with the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major and leadership gift prospects.

 Prior to his return to Malvern, Vic spent three years at CCS, a fundraising consulting firm based in New York City. At CCS, Vic served organizations in the healthcare, secondary and higher education sectors. His assignments included campaign counsel at Gonzaga College High School (Washington, DC), the American University in Cairo, Egypt, and St. Peter’s University Hospital (New Brunswick, NJ).

 Prior to joining CCS, Vic served as a Major Gift Officer at Fairfield University (Fairfield, CT), and was as a member of the development team that raised $137,000,000 during the Our Promise Campaign. In all his roles, Vic has made hundreds of major gift solicitations (for restricted, unrestricted and endowment gifts), prepared many different types of solicitation proposals and stewarded hundreds of donors in preparation for the solicitation of a future gift. Vic has considerable experience managing volunteers and led the design and implementation of Fairfield University’s first comprehensive Reunion Giving and athletic development programs.

During his days as a Malvern student, he was involved in the Malvern Theater Society, student newspaper (editor in chief his senior year), student council, cross country, basketball and baseball. He received a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and a Master in Education degree from Fairfield University.

Vic and his wife, Christine, have two children. Vic has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Fairfield County Chapter, including a term as President, and has been a member of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors and Villanova University’s Fairfield/Westchester County Alumni Chapter. He also served as a media liaison for the Connecticut Special Olympics and currently serves as a Eucharistic Minister in the Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Hobbies include fishing, basketball, biking, and coaching youth sports.

 

Carolyn McLaughlin

 Carolyn joined the Malvern Prep community in September 2015 as the Associate Director for Development.  Carolyn brings to this position more than a decade of nonprofit and fundraising experience, most recently from Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia and CCS, a fundraising consulting firm based in New York City.

Carolyn is an active alumna of Bishop Shanahan High School as well as the University of Pennsylvania's School of Social Policy & Practice. Carolyn is a member of the Bishop Shanahan Fund Leadership Committee and has served as an alumni mentor to several UPenn graduate students. Carolyn is also a member of the Development Committee for Variety, the Children's Charity of Greater Philadelphia.

Carolyn holds a Bachelor's degree in Religion from La Salle University and a Master's in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Carolyn and her husband Jeff are avid beach-goers and enjoy outdoor activities with their daughter every chance they get.

 

Mary-Helen McCulloch, Esq.

 Mary-Helen is Malvern Prep's Director of Planned Giving. She is focused on aiding those interested in leaving Malvern Prep a legacy gift, such as a bequest, trust, or other life income gift.  Prior to joining Malvern Prep, Mary-Helen was the Director of Planned Giving for the Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She received her bachelor’s degree from Villanova University, and is a cum laude graduate of the Villanova University School of Law. While at Villanova Law, she concentrated her course work on estates, financial planning, and tax law. Mary-Helen enjoys playing golf, spending time with her family and dog, and being active with the Villanova Alumni Association.

Marie is the Assistant to Malvern Prep’s Advancement Department.  She has worked as an Administrative Assistant in development for 20 years and has been a member of the Malvern Prep team since September 2007.

 Christine Tiberi is Malvern Prep’s Database Coordinator. In this role, she maintains biographical and financial information for the Development and Alumni Offices. Christine joined the Malvern Prep family in 2006 as Development and Communications Assistant, supporting the efforts of The Malvern Fund and the Communications department.  Christine and her husband, Mark, have two sons, Mark, Jr. and Christopher, who are both Malvern Prep graduates. In her spare time, Christine enjoys crafting, flower arranging, and planning family vacations.

 

Carlo "Chuck" Chinici P'90

Carlo “Chuck” Chinici arrived at Malvern in 1978 after spending eight years as a history teacher, football and baseball coach and assistant principal at Mitchell Prep in Haverford, Pa. Chuck is a member of the first graduating class of Cardinal O’Hara High School in 1966. He  graduated from Villanova University in 1970 with a B.S. in Education and earned his M.A. in Secondary Administration from Villanova in 1973. Chuck began his career at Malvern Prep in September 1978 as the history teacher in the new Middle School. Along with teaching history in the Middle and Upper Schools, his other duties at Malvern have included coaching freshman football (13 years), junior varsity baseball (four years), Activities Director (21 years) and Athletic Director (10 years). 

After spending 45 years in the classroom, in July of 2015 Chuck accepted the new position in the Development Department. As Stewardship Coordinator, Chuck helps to coordinate and foster relationships among donors, parents, alumni, scholarship students and Malvern faculty and staff. Along with his duties as Stewardship Coordinator, he is also a member of the M.E.C.O. Committee and the Malvern Hall of Fame Committee. Chuck and his wife, Kathy, enjoy spending time with their six grandchildren. In his spare time, Chuck enjoys coin collecting, Facebook and attending as many Malvern sporting events as possible.

Emily Buck

Emily Buck is Malvern Prep’s Director of The Malvern Fund. In this role, Emily executes Malvern’s annual giving program that allows Malvern to expand its margin of excellence each year. Emily has a background in nonprofit program management and development combined with experience in education, and it is her appreciation for Malvern Prep that makes her excited to be a part of this community. A graduate of Villa Maria Academy, Emily was a member of the Malvern Theater Society for four years. She enjoys DIY projects, spending time with her family and visiting Ocean City, N.J. Her brother the Rev. Jason Buck is a member of the Malvern Prep Class of 2003.
